HardyVal™ HazDetect™ Hazardous Drug Manipulation Training Kit, 5 Tests
Details
Hardy Diagnostics HVHAZ HardyVal™ HazDetect™ Hazardous Drug Manipulation Training Kit provides materials for five individual competency tests that simulate procedures commonly performed when compounding or processing hazardous drugs. Featuring UV-detectable fluorescein powder and solution for identifying handling breaches and evaluating simulated spill cleanup, the kit supports personnel training without using an actual hazardous drug.
Material/Structure
- Five individual hazardous drug manipulation simulation tests
- Five vials containing 50 mg of fluorescein sodium salt powder
- Five tubes containing 3 mL of 0.05% fluorescein solution
- Fluorescein powder appears brown-red
- Fluorescein solution appears clear and yellow-green
- Fluorescein solution pH: 7.4 ± 0.3 at 25°C
- Recommended storage temperature: 2°C to 25°C
- Light- and temperature-sensitive contents
- UV light, flexible containers, syringes, needles, transfer devices, IV sets, PPE, and cleanup supplies not included
- Non-Sterile
Cleanroom Environment
- Designed for personnel training and hazardous drug handling competency verification in pharmacies and healthcare facilities.
- Manufacturer recommends the kit for fulfilling USP <800> personnel-training criteria when used with a compatible UV light.
- Supports training procedures performed in a biological safety cabinet or similar hazardous drug containment area.
- Allows facilities to adapt the testing procedure to their written procedures, equipment, risk assessment, and containment practices.
- Supports evaluation of hazardous drug manipulation without exposing personnel to an actual antineoplastic or hazardous drug.
- Non-sterile contents are not intended for aseptic technique training or validation.
Benefits
- Fluorescent dye spots reveal potential breaches in hazardous drug manipulation procedures when examined under UV light.
- Supports objective review of contamination on gloves, gowns, containers, work surfaces, and containment equipment.
- Provides materials for testing up to five personnel or completing five individual training procedures.
- Simulates powder reconstitution, solution transfer, flexible-container filling, and optional IV administration-set priming.
- Retained fluorescein solution can be used to create a simulated hazardous-material spill.
- Allows facilities to evaluate the effectiveness of established spill-cleanup procedures.
- Results log included in the instructions supports documentation of observed fluorescent dye spots.
